I was a late starter in taking up the guitar and Phil has been an excellent tutor during the past almost 2 years. I am learning acoustic guitar and lessons are gone through at a pace suitable for me in a clear and structured way. I would highly recommend Phil to anyone who is thinking of learning to play guitar.

As you would expect, he is good on both technique and music theory but, more importantly in my experience, his teaching style is very student-focussed. Rather than following a fixed path, he adapts the exercises and choices of piece to suit the musical interests and technical needs of the learner. Over time I have found that this helps keep my interest and maintains motivation.
